Mud Dog Features

General Features

  • Cylindrical debris body offers 10.8 cu. yd. (7.6 cu.m) of gross capacity and is constructed of 1/4" (6 mm) thick steel for long life. 16 cu. yd capacity tank also available.
  • Unique ejector plate unloading system scrapes the body clean for fast, thorough debris removal and easy washdowns without the need to elevate the body.
  • Unloading control station is located behind the cab on the driver’s side allowing the operator to safely unlatch tailgate, raise rear door and eject debris.
  • Clearly marked emergency shutdown switch quickly shuts engine off
  • Tailgate splash shield prevents material from splashing to the side when ejecting from debris body
  • Dead Bolt Style Hydraulic latches ensure containment of debris material
  • Full-opening tailgate with hydraulic lift

Vacuum System

  • 8" Gum Rubber-Lined Vacuum Hose ensures hours of operation before replacement may be needed
  • Positive displacement vacuum pump 5800 CFM and 28" Hg (711.2 mm)
  • Transfer case drive for vacuum pump
  • Vacuum gauge, vacuum pump tachometer with hour meter

Filtration System

  • Air and material enter the collector body through the boom hose. Major separation of the material from the airstream occurs in the collector body. The clean air then continues through the centrifugal separator where remaining particles are pulled out of the airstream. The air is then pulled through a final filter before being exhausted through the vacuum pump.
  • Polyethylene water tanks on the 10 yard unit offer capacity of 1,000 gallons. 1,500 gal capacity tanks available with 16 yard unit.
  • Triplex water pump offers 14 GPM (5.3 LPM) and 3000 psi (204 bar) while providing a more reliable, smoother flow than single piston-type pumps
  • Centrifugal separator with clean-out door
  • Pleated element, 10 micron, final filter –easily removed and washable
  • Dual, stainless steel, float ball shut-off
  • Water system with winter re-circulation

Additional Features Available

  • 465,000 Btu/hour diesel-fired, water heater to thaw frozen soil and heavy clay
  • Environmentally safe, anti-freeze injection system protects pump, burner and hose from cold weather freeze-up when idle in outdoor or un-heated environment
  • Large cabinet with side access doors houses and protects water pump and hoses, as well as provides plenty of room to store gear, signage/cones and tools. Cabinet heater protects all cabinet items from the effects of a cold or wet environment.
  • 8-ft. Telescopic Boom with 305° rotation, allows for greater range of motion (up to 22' reach from side of tires). Makes for quicker set-up when trying to position dig tube, and allows for easier trenching. Worm gear-driven boom allows smooth movement into desired position, even when on uneven ground.
  • Air-Backed Elbow on Boom forces incoming debris to wear against other debris, instead of wearing out the steel junction.
  • 8" x 15' (203 mm x 4.6 m) aluminum tubes plus 6" x 7' (152 mm x 2.1 m) dig tube with storage rack
  • Hard Wire Remote Control allows for easy operation of all boom functions, vacuum relief, throttle and water pump on/off selection. Wireless remote control also provided for even greater convenience. Additionally, a Backup Redundant Control Station enables completion of a job if either remote unit is lost or damaged.
  • Convenient curbside operation
  • Neoprene-Tipped Water Lance and Dig Tube allows for non-destructive digging when locating or digging around underground utilities.
  • Rear mounted, LED arrow board
  • 6” dia. (152 mm) front body drain valve and hose
  • Front-mounted strobe light
  • Heavy-duty transfer case rated to 475 hp.
